The appropriate oil change interval for any car is dependent on what type of vehicle you drive and the type of oil it's engine uses.
How far, how often, and what type of driving you do also effects the intervals between changes. Many manufacturers recommend a change interval of 5,000-8,000km.(Approx 3-6 months)
For cars which are driven less than 5,000km per year, then it is recommended that an oil and filter change be performed at least once a year.
The most common reason vehicles wont start is due to a dead or faulty battery and/or a faulty alternator. Even though most cars run on gasoline, they all require electrical power to function. If something is wrong with your battery, your vehicle engine won’t turn over. A bad alternator usually goes hand-in-hand with a bad battery. The alternator normally recharges the battery and keeps the car’s electrical systems running after the car has started. If your alternator is not functioning property, it will drain your battery instead of keeping it charged. The best option is to bring your vehicle to a professional to get it checked out.
Signs of a bad Battery :
Dim dashboard lights
No radio/audio
Battery Corrosion
Old Age
Vehicle immediately dies after starting
Signs of a bad Alternator :
Dim interior lights
Dim or overly bright headlights
When it comes to vehicle safety, tires are one of the most important components of your vehicle. Your tires are holding your vehicle to the road. is an area on the tires that’s the size of a hand. Without the proper Tread, your vehicle wont have the Traction that its need to safely travel on the road.
Signs that indicate its time to replace:
01. Wear of Treads
A brand-new tire will generally have tread depth in the 9/32-to-11/32-inch range. If the depth has gone down to 2/32 of an inch, then it will indicate that it has suffered considerable amount of wear and you need to change it.
02. Bulges and Bubbles
In case there is a bulge in tire then it means that tire's internal frame got damaged. Due to such damage, air pressure will be reaching tire's outer layers. As such, if you find sidewall bubbles or bulges then the tire should be immediately replaced.
03. Vibration
If there is uneven wear in tires, then it will cause vibrations that you will feel in your steering wheel while driving. However, poor alignment can also cause such vibrations and as such, it will be important to take professional advice.
04. Cracks or Cuts in Sidewall
Sidewall cracking is a common problem that is noticed when tire ages and its rubber degrades. Such cracking happens due to excessive heat, ozone exposure, sunlight, surfactants present in road, etc. On the other hand, cuts happen when the tire hits something sharp or a rock.
05. Valve Cap Damage
You should get your brakes checked about every 6 months. How much driving and the way you drive will also affect the lifespan of your brakes. If your driving in heavy traffic and breaking often, your pads will wear out sooner then the average driver.
Signs that indicate it’s time for brake servicing:
01. Thickness of Brake Pad
Overtime, the brake pads turn thinner due to wear and tear. If the technicians finds that it is not even an inch's quarter thickness, then a replacement will become necessary.
02. Squealing Sound
If you hear squealing sound coming from brake pads, then it will be a clear sign that you need to change them. Similarly, replacement will be advised when you get harsh grinding noise.
03. Veering Problem
If you apply brakes and the vehicle veers to one side, then it will indicate that there is a problem. It could be due to a brake hose that has collapsed, caliper which is stuck, or brake pads that have turned uneven.
04. Vibration in Brake Pedal
When you get a vibrating sensation in brake pedal then it will suggest warping of rotors. Such warping takes place due to heat that gets generated because of friction.
05. Mushy Pedal
You will know there is mushy pedal when brakes engage after you apply them and reach up to the floor. When traveling a high speed, this can become a dangerous situation. If brakes are applied at the slightest tap then it will mean there is spongy pedal. These problems will suggest there are issues with fluids and a visit to technicians will be necessary.
